Step 3: Rough Layout
Attach copy elements in order of importance
Begin a rough layout by listing the copy elements you have developed in order of
importance. Use only the two or three most important elements. To ensure that those pieces get priority placement, make each element as large and visible as possible. Do not be afraid to eliminate
extraneous elements.
Proportion size of elements by importance
Emphasize the most important elements of the message, such as the name of the business and the directional. Make them the largest.
Choose colors
Background and copy colors should contrast as much as possible to ensure that copy is legible even
from a distance. Limit colors and clutter to simplify artwork.
